Though I miss y’all and cannot thank you enough for your thoughtful inquiries into my “disappearance,” summer is here which means lots of makin’ memory moments for Lee and me with our dynamic duo and bonus baby. Recently, we returned with Caroline and Daniel from the JH Ranch in Etna, CA. Here is a link with a video of our everlasting adventure: http://vimeo.com/98705486. Truly, the JH Ranch is a special place which I would encourage you to consider for your family.
As I type, our soon-to-be eighteen-month-old is nestled in my lap sound asleep. Caroline and Daniel are participating in a missions’ blitz at our church, and my precious husband is at work. I’m thanking the Lord for His blessings while reflecting on a statement written yesterday by one of my heroes, Joni Eareckson Tada, on the forty-seventh anniversary of the accident which left her a quadriplegic.
Joni penned, “I learned that the God of the Bible is not sometimes sovereign. He does not occupy the throne one day and vacate it the next. He is supremely in charge (often for purposes we cannot understand this side of eternity). But as we trust Him, some of those purposes can become plain. And for me, His purpose has meant giving the love of Christ to thousands of people with disabilities here and abroad. That is worth decades of life in a wheelchair.”
I am not sure what your circumstances are at this minute, but I pray you’ll find comfort in the unchanging promises of God’s Word. I invite you to memorize Philippians 1:6 with me, “…being confident of this, that He Who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” You are loved.
